The Dockers are yet to break to the Last Four in the continental competition
Under the tutelage of former player James Ontere, the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men’s volleyball team has declared itself ready for the challenge as they prepare to jet out on Monday, 14 April, for the 46th edition of the Africa Club Championship, scheduled to serve off from 17 to 30 April 17 in Misurata, Libya.

The coach has named a squad of 18 that will do duty as they look to break the semis jinx in their fourth attempt.
They are going for a mix of youth and experience, with three key players, skipper Dennis Omollo, opposite Peter Kamara, and middle blocker Brian Kamonde, expected to lead the charge.
Team Manager Joel Kosgei, speaking to Afrosports, expressed strong confidence in the squad’s readiness and ambition.
“We have taken lessons from past outings, and this time we’re not just going to participate. We are going to compete. The team is mentally focused, physically prepared, and united in one mission: to bring home a podium finish. Representing Kenya and KPA on a continental stage is both a responsibility and a privilege, and we are ready to make it count,” the manager said.
Ontere’s charges will look to build on their Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men’s league form, where they lost two matches in the regular season to place third on the standings on 34 points, five behind leaders GSU and one adrift defending champions Prisons Kenya, to book a match-up against Trailblazers in the eagerly awaited KVF playoffs set to serve off in May.
In previous editions, the experience of Wafalme Stars’ trio of Kamonde, Omollo, and Kamara has come in handy in qualifying the Dockers for the knockout stages.
Libero Sam Juma and setters Elija Bosire add to the experience. Will they pull their side to the Last Four for the first time?
